COZY ABODE
Vivian entered and won the Best in Show award in the 17th Annual Historic Dublin Paint Out Competition, Oct. 24, 2020. About her painting, “Cozy Abode”, juror Mark Gingerich said: “I felt like the overall composition was pleasing and the house nestled in the trees was a good design. I liked how the tree on the left helped the viewer move around that side of the painting to circle around back to the center of interest.” To purchase the painting, please contact the Dublin Area Art League.
Because of the ongoing pandemic, the 2020 Upper Arlington Labor Day Show was a “drive-by, walk or bike-by” tour. Each accepted artist displayed paintings in their front yard.
I am sitting by part of my display.

CENTRAL OHIO WATERCOLOR SOCIETY 2019
Viviian entered two paintings in this exhibit
The Central Ohio Watercolor Society show was on exhibit at The Ohio State University Faculty Club until July 7.
I had these two works on exhibit.
Below are the two images of those paintings with the juror Tom Schroeder's comments.
SUNNY AFTERMATH
" The wispy sprays of pine laden with snow are wonderfully suggested in this piece. The movement of the brushstrokes work very well to capture the texture. This also has a magical abstract quality. Lots to feel with this one"
VIEW TO THE NARROWS
" I can relate to the lighting of this winter scene. The moment is the brief golden hour which is much less than an hour".
It is the instant of the day when it actually looks like it might be kind of warm out, but we know it isn't. The values are well placed to help frame and contrast."
Vivian is pictured here with her painting, "Warm Current", which won the Ohio Watercolor Society Bronze Medal, at the 41st Annual Juried Exhibition at the Florence O"Donnel Wasmer Gallery, Ursuline College, Pepper Pike, Ohio. Following this it travelled to various venues throughout Ohio.
